It silently traveled to 2019,
Arriving on the same street in a trance, strangeness filled the air.
And disappeared at the speed of a person falling from a tall building.

All the bodies are hollowed out.
All the silent seasons come and go,
Everyone is torn between whether to go home or not.

The echoing sound has no direction,
The burning light reaches nowhere.

"The Covering Chronicles" traces Hong Kong from 2014 to 2022, picking up the revolution, love, and daily life of the era through the repeated confessions, memories, and inquiries of a young university graduate to his lover. The narrator's resistance and healing in a Christian family, the restlessness and confusion in gay culture, and the fragility and pain of love all point to the uneasy future of the entire city. This is the sum of many wounds before and after the plague, between historic resistance movements, between displaced bodies, between breaking up and not breaking up. This book attempts to find the possibilities of intimacy, freedom, and liberation in what remains of Hong Kong.

Nimi

Born in 1997, Hong Kong.

A graduate of the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts' School of Film and Television, he majored in editing. His film, "Castle in the Pyrenees," was shortlisted for the 2015 IFVA Independent Short Film and Video Media Competition. In 2018, "Departure" was selected for the Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival and received the IFVA jury's recommendation. Since middle school, he has published various forms of poetry and criticism on platforms such as "Sound and Rhythm Poetry Magazine," "Zihua," and online publications such as "Bie Zi," "Xu Ci. Wu Xing," and "SAMPLE." "The Covering Chronicle" is his first published work.
