"Wild Storm" is the second collection of essays by Malaysian Chinese writer Leong Ching Fun. The essays are written over the past decade or so. Some have appeared in newspapers and magazines, while others have simply been jotted down in notebooks, posted on blogs, or posted on Facebook.

The book is divided into five volumes. Volume one, "Seeking in the Wild," writes about people; Volume two, "The Rhythm of Unleashing the Wild," writes about drums; Volume three, "Wildness is the Irreversible Tide," writes about reading, writing, and watching plays; Volume four, "Wild Ways," writes about traveling; and Volume five, "There Are Wild Lilies Too," writes about all sorts of things.

Leung Ching-fen:

I believe the vitality of prose lies in its “wildness.” Wildness is everything and nothing at the same time.

Wildness is like water flowing, like wind passing by your ears.

If prose has an ideal form, then what I yearn for is more and more wildness.

Born in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan , Leong Ching Fun graduated from the Department of Science and Computer Education at the University of Technology Malaysia. She began her career as an editor for Xuehai Weekly. Three years later, she moved to Beijing to pursue a Master's degree in Chinese Language and Literature, majoring in Modern Literature, at Peking University. After graduating, she returned to the newspaper as deputy editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine, Asian Eyes.

"Asian Eye" ceased publication and he was transferred to work at the supplement of "Sin Chew Daily".

He has won the Malaysia Outstanding Young Writer Award, the Taiwan United Daily News Literary Award Essay Jury Award, the Seagull Literary Award Novel Jury Award, the Huazong Malaysian Chinese Literature Award, the Huazong Malaysian Chinese Novel First Prize and the Outstanding Work Award, etc.

His published works include the essay collection Dreaming of the North (You Ren, 2007); the short story collections Langdao Songbook (Sin Chew Daily, 2011), Five Elements Turbulence (You Ren, 2013), and Water Tremble (Taiwan Printing, 2016).
