In the early winter of that year, Zhao Mingyue, who had lived in Tokyo for a long time, decided to return to her hometown. Her hometown, which she had always avoided discussing with outsiders, had become unfamiliar and deserted. In a small town where people and things had changed, her second brother, who had been in a relationship for many years but remained unmarried, was struggling to cope with their mother's pressure to get married. Her eldest sister, divorced, refused to return home for fear of her mother's nagging. Her future sister-in-law was at her ease, toying with her second brother's devoted heart. Two of her high school classmates, who had finally found love, eagerly awaited her return.
