Liao Wenhui

He holds a Master's degree in History from National Taiwan University, a Master's degree in Chinese Studies from the University of Malaya, and a PhD in History from Xiamen University, China. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Chinese Studies and Southeast Asian Studies at New Era University College, Malaysia, Director of the Malaysian Historical Research Center, and an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Overseas Chinese Literature and Data Research Center at Huaqiao University. His research focuses on Southeast Asian history and overseas Chinese. He is the author of The Development and Evolution of Historiographical Studies in Malaysia and Singapore (1800-1969) (2022), Malaysia: A Tropical Nation of Diversity and Coexistence (2019), A Critical Biography of Xu Yunqiao (2014), 80 Years of Historiography in Malaysia and Singapore: From Nanyang Studies to Chinese Studies (1930-2009) (2011), and The Chinese School Teachers' Association and Its Figures (1951-2005) (2006). He has also published nearly 100 papers both domestically and internationally.
