Xing Yiwang's poetry collection is divided into four volumes: "One Body", "Delivery", "Elegy", and "Nocturne".
The poet describes himself in the postscript:
This little book contains eulogies and elegies I have written to my parents, relatives, friends, strangers, myself, and others who are not me (the chapters in the fourth volume have been set to music). It is perhaps not an exaggeration to say that it is my personal collection of elegies.
These elegies are fragmented fragments of life, intermittent farewells and regrets—a stark contrast to Rilke's celestial, transcendental, and integrated summary of life. I hope they can be as plain and sincere as possible, free of exaggeration and fabrication, but I can't force it. Let them be gathered together with the accumulation of my heart and the years. It can also be regarded as another clumsy confession of my life, like a book with no place to start, no meaning, and no address.
