Welcome to our Film Drifting Institute , where we'll delve into the secrets behind the cinematic screens of yesteryear and explore how Hong Kong films have evolved to adapt to different markets. From Cantonese to Mandarin, from Asia to Europe and America, from classics to lesser-knowns. Tonight, we'll unravel the mysteries behind the differences between versions and trace how each Hong Kong film has shaped its own distinct destiny in different markets.
This event will be hosted by Hong Kong film and television YouTuber Wei Ge Club . We welcome everyone to join us in returning to the golden age of Hong Kong films and spend a happy night of Hong Kong films together.

Brother Wei (Yuan Yongkang)
He studies film and television in Malaysia and has worked in the television industry for over a decade. In 2012, he established the Facebook page "Weige Club," which focuses on Hong Kong's film, television, and entertainment culture from the 1970s to the 1990s. Since 2017, he has interviewed over 20 filmmakers, including Gordon Chan, Teresa Mo, Tung Wei, Fennie Yuen, David Wu, and Stephen Chow, on a YouTube program of the same name. Since 2013, he has been a guest speaker and presenter at events and film festivals organized by the Hong Kong Film Archive, the Hong Kong Film Culture Centre, and the Broadway Cinematheque. Since 2021, he has been curating programming for Tai Kwun's "Saturday Steps Cinema" and has also been sharing his work at various institutions. He is the author of "Born to Be a Hong Kong Film Fanatic."
